A different beat

Girl Terror loves to sing. She's been "singing" since she was 10 months old, and now she is actually producing sounds that resemble songs. She also loves to hear other people singing. Usually. On Friday night we were driving home, and she was in a foul mood. Hubby suggested she sing, and she coerced him into singing with her. He sang all the favourites, and then we turned on a Christmas CD, hoping she would just hum along and we could do our own thing. Nope. She wanted to sing her songs, nothing else. So we were singing along with Anne Murray (NOT hubby's choice) and she was singing the end song to "Bear in the Big Blue House". We tried to just keep going, but she got louder and more and more determined. It was a lovely duet, and it went something like this:

Us: Come, they told me
Her: Goodbye, my friends, goodbye
Us: Pa rum pa pa pummmm
Her: Now it's time to GOOOOO
Us: The newborn King to see, pa rum
Her: The bear, the moon, the big blue house
Us: pa pum pummm
Her: Be back again soon I KNOOOWWW.

She marches to the beat of a different drummer. Not the one from the song.
