I'm lovin' it.

I don't know how it happened, but the Girl Terror is a potty master. She has been in pull-ups since Tuesday morning, and no accidents. (Still in diapers at night, though). We went to town, and she used a "grown-up potty" at DQ. She went to school, and the teacher said she did great, went on her own, no problems.
Speaking of school....you should never promise a 3 year old anything. They never forget. We told her, months ago, that she could only go to school if she peed in the potty. This was back when she refused to ever sit on it, even fully clothed. She had been to an open house at the Montessori preschool in town, and LOVED it. We said she could go back if she peed in the potty, but really, we were planning to move into the city this fall, and would have sent her regardless. Long story short: We didn't move. She didn't forget. School is an hour long drive away. All day Tuesday, she told me she was going to school. She told her brother to hurry and put his socks on, we had to get ready to go. She jumped down from the breakfast table, all set to put on her jacket and be off. Wednesday morning she woke up and told me "I a BIG girl now, I hafta go to school!" I handed her some clothes, and she told me she was getting dressed to go to school. You get the picture. All school, all the time, no relief in sight. I called the school. The teacher, bless her heart, said to bring her in that afternoon. By the time the day was over, I had handed over a cheque, and Girl Terror will be attending preschool every Tuesday afternoon. I'd like to have her there more often, but with gas prices the way they are, it would be insane to drive into town more often.
She had the best day ever at school. I had a wonderful afternoon grocery shopping with only one child. He did try to escape the cart every five minutes, and he bellowed "wooh wooh!" over and over, in the hopes of finding a puppy, but other than that it was great. I can hardly wait for next week. Now I just have to explain to her how loooooong it is until Tuesday.

How wonderful that she is doing so well! My Little Princess is 3 1/2 is at the same level of potty training too. She is trained for daytime but wears diapers or pull-ups to bed at night.

How sweet that she wanted so badly to go to school. We are planning on putting our Little Princess in preschool when we move. I think she will love it and the interaction with other kids will be good for her.

Then I guess now would not be a good time to tell her she's going to be home-schooled?

So are you planning on moving to town in the couple of months? Or moving next year? I used to do a 1/2 hour drive into my daughter's preschool 3 times a week. She loved the school, the teachers, and her friends so I couldn't NOT drive her. So an hour once a week? I totally understand!

Don't let the night-time diapers thing bother you. I remember my kids ripping around the house in double diapers and rubber pants, long after they were daytime toilet trained and out of diapers. It's one of those realities of real parenting.
