Know how I know we love these Terrors? Because of yesterday. Hubby and I took the kids to the new Canada Games Centre.
First, he took Girl Terror skating, for the first time in her life. She truly thought that all her practice on the wood floor at home would help her, but it turns out jumping and twirling are much harder on ice. Hubby spent half an hour hunched over, holding her upright, while she "skated". Meanwhile, I had Boy Terror in the indoor playground. I lifted him up to the slide about 156,392 times. I tried to ignore the child who kept sending the 3 wheel scooter down the big blue tube. I smiled when snot nosed brats flung huge pieces of foam around my head.
After that, we went into the pool. Yes, I donned a bathing suit and walked around in public. We went down the big red slide (which Hubby loves, and I am terrified of). We spent a looong time crouched in the kiddie pool, asses to the wind, trying to keep our children from drowning. Actually, Girl Terror was okay. Boy Terror simply doesn't understand that he should stop walking when the water gets deep enough to cover his head.
Finally, we hauled ourselves out, did some brief shopping, and headed for home. And here is where the proof of the love is: "That was fun!" "Yeah, did you see his little face..?" "So she thinks she's a skater!" "We should go again soon!"

Sound like fun for the whole family. I refuse to appear in public in swimwear until those one piece jobs that Fred Mertz used to wear on I Love Lucy.
Wait a minute! NOBODY goes swimming in the winter, do they? Really?

I probably already read this, but where are you from? I am from NL, and I remember the new Canada Games Center they built in Corner Brook and how many more events it brought to the area.
