Stinky isn't always good

I love scented stuff. Looooove it. If there is an option to have a scent over non-scent, I will always buy the smelly. I think it's because growing up, my mother would not allow me to have anything with a smell to it. So in my house I have amaretto candles, cherry candles, mulberry candles (I also happen to really like candles...), lemon body wash, citrus shower scrub, Relaxing body oil, apple dish soap, Every Day perfume, Just the Weekend perfume, Extra Special perfume, vanilla blossom dryer sheets, lavender sachets in my underwear drawer, pumpkin spice room spray....the list is endless.
However, I think I've found the limit. Finally. I bought vanilla sparkle deodorant, and it's just not....right. Never mind the sparkle part. Seriously, who wants sparkly pits? The smell is not working for me. I thought it would be a nice change from the baby powder pit smell, but it's not at all good to lift your arm and get a whiff of vanilla ice cream. It's a bit disturbing, actually. Turns out, I do not like thinking "Mmmm. My pits smell good enough to eat today!!" I don't like that thought. And I certainly don't want other people thinking about licking my pits.
Where am I going with this? I don't know. I guess my point is, if you walk by me and think "She's just tasty!" remember, it's the armpits. So just keep walking. And if you have nothing else to blog about, go sniff under your arm.

I am not one for the smelly stuff all over the place. A fresh breeze from outdoors just cannot be imitated, in my mind. That's not to say I stay completely away from the stuff, scented candles can have their place, but the only soap/detergent/smelly something I keep a regular of is the shower gel. Otherwise, unscented here. :) (since you brought it up, baby powder deodorant) :)

Here from Michele's.

Mr. kenju does not like scented laundry, so I have to buy unscented detergents and dryer sheets. If I burn candles, he runs from the house coughing. If I spray Lysol or Oust, he does the same - so I am limited to the smells of cooking (none of which turn him off) and the smell of cat litter - which I confess to leaving longer than necessary, just to tick him off....LOL

I love smelly stuff too, but my husband doesn't so I am limited as to how much I can stink up the place. BUT the one scent I do not like is vanilla. Vanilla ANYthing is just yuck to me. Is actually makes me nauseous.

I'm a big fan of smelly stuff too, but I agree that there is a limit.

When I was nursing my youngest, I had some serious issues with milk supply, so I started taking fenugreek, which had the unfortunate side effect of making my sweat smell like maple syrup. I spent several months with a bad case of pancake pits. *shudder*

While there are a few scents I can tolerate, mostly fruit and spices...then there are the flower scents and that's when my head feels about to explode and I get a POUNDING headache. The strongest culprit is vanilla - like a hammer to the brain. There is something my boss wears, hairspray I think, that also sends my headache off. I try not to complain too much, as these are pretty much the only headaches I get...that was, until I had eye surgery...now they are a part of my life...for now, anyhow. Some of my favorite scents though are mulberry, cinnamon, and citrus, any of them. I buy quality candles so they are generally pretty nice to have going, and don't bother me at all.

I love scented stuff too - but I can't imagine having my arm pits smell like food...

hiya, lurking after reading mary p's blog! I love nice smells, but anything sprayed makes me sneeze so I go overboard on washing machine tabs and fabric conditioner and washing everything in it, curtains, cushion covers, cant get enough of summer breeze or what ever the latest new fabric conditioner is on offer this week! I took fenugreek when I was breastfeeding, it does come out in your sweat, loads of miolk but you smell weird!

While I do like perfumes, etc... I don't like air fresheners. I think plugging something in that emits an odor all day is air pollution! Don't laugh - it is! Who really needs that much freshening in their homes???!!!

So tell me though, what's your special perfume, daytime perfumes, etc... I just bought my absolute favourite -- Coco Chanel! Used up all my last remaining Christmas money, but SOOOO worth it!!!
