You know who your true friends are when something goes wrong in life. This week, I've had so much support from friends, and I'm so very grateful.
One friend, who works at the local TV station, is going to put an obituary notice on the rolling ads that every one watches in the morning. No meaningless, long, teary conversation. Just a concrete task that he can do, that I would have never thought of on my own.
Two other friends dropped in Friday night, just to distract me and keep me company while Hubby is out of town. We drank (they brought wine! Good people!) and played guitar hero, and I even laughed.
Another couple came over yesterday to babysit so I could go to school and get some work done. Even after I came back, they hung out and played in the snow with the Terrors, shovelled the driveway, and gave me time to just....breathe.
Thanks to all of you who have e-mailed, or left comments. I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Things are going to be normal again soon, I know.

Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers.

I often wish there were some way to explain or otherwise understand why some things happen to good people, why the inexplicable seems to happen without any sort of context. Then I comfort myself in the knowledge that we're probably not meant to be in on the secret. Maybe someday, just not now.

How sweet of you to notice how people come through in those moments of truth. I've long contended that it's during times like this when you learn who your true friends are. They're there. Simply, quietly, there.

I hope you spend more quality time in the days and weeks to come with good friends, wine and guitar hero. Sounds like a nice mix of support to me.

I've never commented on your page even though I've read it for quite some time now. I'm really starting to miss you. Please write again.
