Fun with Friends

Today I babysat for a friend. For 5 hours, I had 5 kids. Now, I realize that some people choose stuff like this. I personally think I would go nuts with more than two. Don't get me wrong, I love and adore the kids I had today. In fact, for a brief while, I wanted another baby. (That little boy is the CUTEST!). But long term? I can't imagine. My car is built for four. We have four kitchen chairs. We have just enough bedrooms. One boy, one girl. Anything else would throw off the delicate balance, I'm sure.
That being said, it was nice to have playmates for both Terrors. There was no boredom here today. They watched a movie while the littlest one napped. They played dress-up. They went outside. They came back inside. They built, shrieked, hid, ran, and did all kinds of imaginary things. There were endless mind boggling conversations, about who was the hungriest, who was the coldest, what a "real princess" would say in any given situation, and why it is fun to pretend to go to sleep.
The kids all get along fairly well. Boy Terror has accepted his role in life is to marry Em. Because she said so. Girl Terror and Jordanna would spend all their days and nights together if we let them. There were a few tears, but not many. Only one princess can wear the "best" princess dress at a time. And there can really be only ONE boss of the playroom. Who knew?
Our cats hid for most of the afternoon. They seemed to feel that their odds were better staying upstairs with the 18 month old, who referred to them as "woofs".
Everyone is gone now, and the Terror's are in bed. I don't know about them, but I am exhausted.

So while I had the night off, you had extra kids. The universe knows how to balance itself out, doesn't it? LOL Seriously, you must have had fun. Nothing like an experience like that to make your everyday feel like vacation.

We have 3 little darlings. I can't imagine life without them...sometimes I would like to imagine how quiet it would be :-) but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Those who have more than 3 scare me. I don't know how they do it!I saw a woman in the mall with for young boys , the oldest looked about 8 or 9 and the youngest no older than 18 months...she was heavily pregnant with #5. I can barely manage my 3 in the mall and they are 8, 10 and 13!

I hope you have a restful rest of the weekend.
