A child at heart

Recently I've been feeling old. But I've been noticing a few things that suggest I might still be a kid inside!
I love bendy straws. I might be drinking a grown-up beverage like Kahlua and milk, but I'm slurping it up with my happy coloured, striped bendy straw. I buy them by the bag, and use them in just about everything. I'd like to drink beer with a straw, but apparently that would be just too much.
I'm a sucker for coloured nail polish, especially on my toes. Not quiet colours, like shell pink or subdued neutrals. I like bright blue. Green. Brilliant red. Anything with sparkles in it is a hit. If it's tacky and in the discount bin, I'll buy it.
My friend sent me Christmas socks this year. They are black with white snowmen on them, with silver snowflakes. I have worn them out already. If I could wear holiday socks every day, I would. I wore them out of the house yesterday, much to Hubby's consternation. They make me happy!
We were at a barbecue this past weekend at a home with a trampoline. It was all I could do to refrain from leaping around on it like a wild woman. (A bouncing wild woman with far, far too many fat rolls is not a pretty sight.) Nice, mature ladies to not fling themselves through the air with abandon. At least not in public.
Have you seen the half size pop cans? I am in love with the tiny cute Diet Coke cans. I know they cost the same as full size ones, yet hold less pop. But still, they make me so pleased when I see them. It's like my favourite drink has gone and had a litter of cute little cans.
I'm pretty sure that until I can give up some, if not all, of these things, I won't be a grown-up. And that makes me happiest of all.

You and I seem to be having an "I don't wanna grow up" weekend!

There *is* something wonderful about little tiny cans of Diet Coke. They just make my heart sing. :)

I'm so with you on this! I can't go past flannel pj's with kittens on them. I like those curly straws that look like waterslides. At McDonald's I often order Happy Meals, and I always volunteer to take other people's children into the playground so I can go on the swings and slides.

I think there's a big difference between being childlike and childish. You can act like a kid whilst still fulfilling your adult responsiblities - it's the best of both worlds, in a sense. You keep on doing what makes you happy!

Dear Boy Terror and Girl Terror:

Keep an eye on your Mom. I think she's losing it:

"I'm a sucker for colored nail polish, especially on my toes."

"If I could wear holiday socks every day, I would."

I am here to tell you that you CAN wear Holiday socks every day. Why not? I do.

Hey I'd still be trampolining if my back hadn't put paid to my all-time favourite sport by giving up the ghost several years ago.

As for bendy straws, well I use them for all cold drinks because I have super-sensitive teeth and they really help stop the owies when I'm drinking. So go ahead and drink your beer through a straw if you want to, and if anyone asks, well you have sensitive teeth ;)

I have a trampoline in my back yard...and you can find me on it nearly as often as you can my daughter. :)

As for holiday socks, I'm not ashamed to admit that I have 12 (count 'em~12!) pairs and I wear them all year long. Especially the halloween ones with the jack-o-lanterns and black cats. :D
