I need a hobby.

Hubby has gone back to school today, and the drudgery, er, I mean wonderfulness of spending my days with the Terrors begins again. I love my children, I really do, but I think I need a hobby. I need something to do with my time other than finger painting. I can only play with blocks for so long before I want to bash one into my brain. I used to make beaded jewelry, but I only have one neck, and two ears. I can't wear what I already have, no sense making more! I may have to take up knitting. Am I already that old, that I am considering knitting to keep myself occupied?! Got any good ideas for hobbies?!

My wife suffers from the same dilemma, though she works nights.

Your husband does chainmail suits, eh? Perhaps you could make kirtles or learn to play the lute.

You don't have to be old to knit these days :) I knit blankets and scarves and preemie sized baby clothes for the local baby unit.

How about cross stitch?

I'm mid-20's (def not old!) and have crochet parties with my friends. It's easy to put down without losing your place when the kitchen is on fire. AND you live in the Yukon for pete's sake, there's no end to the need of woolen body coverings ;-)

I, too (in reference to note above mine), am in my mid-twenties and have actually spent the vast majority of the last 2 days crocheting things I never plan to use. For example, I'm not a hat person. But I now have 2 new hats that my grandmother would absolutely love. And I am a purse person, but not the crocheted kind. But I now have a lovely crocheted purse that won't even sell in the next garage sale. But if I crochet, I can sit around doing nothing, but no one realizes it because I appear to be productive. If you can call ugly hats productive. :)

I used to knit, crochet, crosstitch and bake. I was on a quest for the perfect cheesecake. Or any other scrumptious dessert. Cake was a piece of cake. Cookies would be made a couple times a week. Drawing or painting?
