If you fall off there and break your neck, don't come crying to me.

Did you see the article in People (Jan 23) about the woman who wants to SUE because her neighbor's dog might have killed her cat?! Seriously. Perhaps no one has told her that dogs chase cats. That's what they do. If you don't want Kitty to be a snack for Rover, keep the damn cat inside.
I have no sympathy for most of the lawsuits I hear about. Smokers? No violin solos from me. If you smoke a pack a day for 20 years, and then get sick, that's sad but it's your own fault. The tobacco company did not make you smoke. Advertisers tried to persuade you to smoke, but you made the choice. Live with it.
You got drunk and did something stupid? Got caught? Huh. Sad story. Next time, don't get so drunk. Learn your limits, wino.
Here, the penalty for hitting a pedestrian in the street (NOT at a crosswalk) is $50. I figure, if a pedestrian doesn't walk the half-block to the crosswalk, and decides to step off the curb in front of traffic, he's lucky he isn't killed. If my car gets a big dumb-ass shaped dent in it, I want to use that $50 to fix it!
I'm tired of the complaining. I do enough of it myself, I don't need to hear yours. Your husband is a jackass? Your kids don't listen? MacDonald's is making you fat? Suck it up. Leave him if you hate it that bad. Make it your job to raise your kids so they DO listen and respect you. And for god's sake, eat an apple and a salad. They sell both those things at MacDonalds, you know.

my thoughts exactly!
Why don't people just grow up and take some responsibility instead of whining and blaming someone else. In fact, people who launch frivolous lawsuits should have to pay an enormous fine.

Hi, Michele sent me.

I am agog at the lack of sense people have. I'm married to a lawyer so lawsuits make my car payment, but I still can't believe what people will sue over. I'm not sure why we've turned into a "it's not my fault society."

They sell apples at MacDonald's? Can you get a large fries with that?

The trouble with that law about pedestrians is they're the ones making the risk. They oughta be fair game for any motorist. Free shot.

All right, Judge Judy - I dig your draconian stylings. I hate those pedestrians that walk and cross in precarious spots while carrying their babies - on their way to get a McApple, of course.

ahh I heard a story recently out of edmonton some pregnant woman who had been drinking(good start huh?) got into a car accident so she sued herself(which meant she sued her own insurance company) on behalf of the baby. LOVELY! people are just disgusting but they don't seem to care!
I'm with ya!
