The shopping must be done. Sigh.

I cleaned out my dresser and closet yesterday afternoon, in anticipation of going back to work. Yes, most people would do that sort of cleaning before moving, but not me.
Turns out, the last time I was a working woman I was pregnant. Since then, I've given birth twice, and lost some weight. I took all my "fattest" clothes to the used clothing store last summer. I was sure I still had decent, go-out-in-public clothes, but I don't. I found 6 pairs of maternity pantyhose, 3 trouser socks, and a lot of t-shirts. I have a couple of skirts, but no shirts to go with them. I have black dress pants, but no black flat shoes. I also have a bulky wedding dress, my grad dress, and the bridesmaid dress I wore in my sister's wedding in 1988. It's turquoise taffeta with huge puffy sleeves and a big bow on the butt. Think I could wear it for the first day of school?

The bow might be a little much. The rest of the dress is okay for the first day. But I wouldn't wear taffeta again...Makes too much noise when you move around, and so the kids can hear you coming.

Hmm... buy a couple of tops to match your skirts (and pants), one pair of shoes to match your pants...alternate the pants w/ the skirts and maybe wear the taffeta on casual Friday?

Oh wear the turquoise dress the first day. You'll get their attention and keep them on their toes for the rest of the year. And keep the bow.

I agree with Rootie - keep'm guessing. :)

You wear that and you will surely leave a mark.

LOL! I think it would be a bit much! Mmmm . . . maybe a pair of jeans and tell them you thought it was casual friday? LOL I hope you find a good outfit to wear.

I think I might have the three trouser socks that need to get paired up with your three. Yeah, I don't know how they travel such distances, either. The whole disappearing sock deal is a mystery to me. But there you have it - I've got three unmatched too.

If I lived next door, we could go shopping! Somewhere that sells pina coladas. Or we could just SAY we were going shopping and go drink pina coladas. hahah

Back to work. Sigh....
