They are big kids, now.

Today was the first day of daycare for the Terrors. They will be at a Day Home, actually. I really like the lady, Wendi, and her set-up seems ideal. She lets me bring breakfast with them, so they can sleep a bit longer and then eat at her house. She provides snacks and lunch, she puts them down for naps with their own blankets, and the backyard is like a gorgeous park.
The Terrors were extremely excited to go. They got backpacks, and spent yesterday wearing them and pretending to go off to school. I was looking forward to returning to work. This week I am setting up my room, planning out the year, and just generally getting back into the swing of things before the students descend on the place.
Hubby and I dropped the Terrors off at 8 this morning. They bounced up to the door, and happily gave us hugs and kisses before disappearing inside. I'm glad they didn't look back to see the tears start trickling down my cheeks.
They will be fine, I know. It's me who's having trouble adjusting.

awww....sniff...I can remember my daughter's first day of school...it was 15 years ago! I cried like a baby to let her go off on her own. Now it's all I can do not to give her the boot with my size 8's...

just kidding...kind of.

It was only last month I sent my baby off to daycare (turning to preschool next month) for the first time. I had a much harder time with it than she did as well.
