movie ideas

I need your help. Even you lurkers out there...it's time to comment!

I go back to work in 21 days. Mentally, I went back today. I'm trying to think of some videos, movies, documentaries to add to my library. Do you have any suggestions?
I teach CAPP (Career and Personal Planning) and Family Studies. In each semester, I cover a variety of topics such as health, sex, jobs, post-secondary education, career choices, and family life.
I don't often show movies in my class, but sometimes you just... need to. And if they are on topic, relevant, and worth my time, I will be more willing to spend class time watching.
So bring it on! Give me ideas!

How about "Juno"? Or would that give the wrong message?

No, that's a good one. I show it when we are talking about teen pregnancy. Juno shows that it's not all cute, it's not all happy endings. Good idea! Got any more?

"October Sky" is a great movie about four boys growing up in dysfunctional families in a coal mining town/ They decide to become rocket scientists and eventually escape the life of coal mining that everyone though they were destined to live. Based on a true story.

About teens, sex and HIV. It was very good.

Michael: Thanks! I have shown that one, and it's been very well received. Lots of good lessons!

Kara: Thanks! I'll go look that one up, since I haven't heard of it before.

Anon: Ha.

"The Pursuit of Happyness"

I like that last one. It has an uplifting message, but shows a bit of the reality of life, hard times, etc.

"Office Space"
...to illustrate what happens to the mediocre students...that's where I used to work, prior to my current demotion to "Brazil".
Now, I almost feel like "He Was a Quiet Man", but that was at another Gov't Dept.
:)

I was going to recommend "The Pursuit of Happiness," but I see some one beat me to it.

Another rather conroversial but very good one might be "I am Sam"
