Good news, Bad news.

For every cloud, there is a silver lining. Blah blah blah. On days like today, I see another way to look at it. For every sunshiney moment, there's a rain cloud somewhere.
Good news: I have lost weight recently. A lot of weight, actually. Bad news: I have no pants that fit, and no pennies with which to buy more pants.
Good news: Hubby has a job that pays him, and so we won't starve. Bad news: He is at work today, getting ready for the school year. He is missing out on this wonderful mood.
Good news: I have a bright child, who has excellent communication skills for her age. Bad news: "why?" "no!" "listen me!" "NO!" "why?" all day long.
Good news: I've been married for 9 wonderful years. Bad news: For our anniversary, we went to WalMart and then to KFC for supper. Hubby got sick from supper. No money for a dinner that has no cramp-causing bacteria.
Good news: I am going out with a girlfriend one night soon. Bad news: See above. No pants. No money. I sense a theme here.
Good news: I have found a new time sucking hobby - online poker (play money). Bad news: I am really, really, bad at it, and I just keep playing. When it's not real money, there's no incentive to quit!
Good news: Life is pretty good to me, all things considered. Bad news: I have nothing else to complain about in this post.

Don't you people pan for gold anymore? Seems like that would be the thing to do when you need some pants money.

It is fun to pan for gold down here. There is no gold in the creeks, but when you have low expectations you don't get very disappointed.

Yes, Hoss, lots of tourists still pan for gold. Some places even guarantee gold in your pan!!! I tried that once. I must have dumped my gold in the river, because I came up empty handed. No gold for me. I wouldn't make a very good miner.

That's pretty good news old around, in my opinion.

Except for the dinner. We ate at a nicer place than KFC, but were tired and had a horrible service.

How about doing what Maria in the sound of Music did. Take some old curtains and make yourself a wrap around skirt.

Congrats on the weight loss. That must feel wonderful.

Nice to read your blog, to read the everyday struggles of life and yet coming out on top of it. I am sure it is a sort of inspiration for other mons out there. I am not one, but I can only imagine.
Take Care and keep up the good and funny writing.
