Happy Thanksgiving.

It's Thanksgiving here in Canada. Happy Thanksgiving! Well, tomorrow, to be technical, is Thanksgiving. But we are celebrating today. Our friend Pete is coming for dinner, the turkey is in the oven, and the house is starting to smell tasty.
It's so easy to just fall into the trap of listing the stuff I'm thankful for. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and all, but sometimes it's nice to look a little....deeper.
I'm grateful for my country. I've lived in a different place, and I know just how much we take for granted here. Health care, education, peace....
My job might make me rip my hair out some days, but deep down, I'm glad to have it. I like the money, yes, but it also gives me a huge chunk of my identity. I AM a teacher. I don't just "do it". The students are challenging, but I like seeing them grow up. I love knowing that I have a part of their lives.
My life growing up was not always a pretty picture, but in a weird way, I'm thankful. I know that I am a strong person because of the things I've gone through. My character has been tested, and I like who I am.
In general, I am thankful for my life, and the wonderful people in it. Here's hoping you are as blessed as me.

I am thankful as well to live in Canada, where I have easy access to health care, that my daughter is healthy and happy, that I have a job that pays well, and that I have friends who like to spend time with me. We had a great dinner out last night at a banquet. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful as well for my life, I cannot imagine life without all the everyday freedoms we sometimes take for granted, My healthy children and the love they have shown and the lessons THEY have taught me. My son on the other hand is thakful for.... dessert!

I truly didn't know that Canada has a Thanksgiving day. Learn something new everyday. Happy Holiday.

I didn't get any of them character tests when I was growing up. I wonder if that's bad?
